Providing for you child a creative outlet is very important. While those who know how to craft and do so themselves might have it easy, the less “crafty” sometimes struggle with ideas.
Kiwi Crate’s line of craft kits offers fun ideas for every season – for the whole family! Their kits are just the right mix of structured, with room for creativity, so that they’re good for everyone, regardless of crafting skill. They offer a subscription, or you can purchase some of their boxes individually.
“At Kiwi Crate, we design hands-on, open-ended learning and creativity kits for amazing kids! Shop our assortment of project kits for kids, and choose a monthly or one-time crate with exciting, educational themes like art, science, games, and music…delivered right to your door. Or get inspired by hundreds of kids’ craft ideas on our DIY Ideas site – like kids’ paper crafts, crafts for preschoolers, christmas crafts, and DIY crafts.”
Kiwi Crate’s Halloween boxes all glow! They have bright and creepy crafts for the whole family to make. My favorite, of course, is candles from the Doodle Crate, since that’s the one that I do. But I admit I also had fun with the Kiwi Crate and my son really enjoyed the Kiwi and Koala crates.
Koala Crate for Halloween:
This lower scale activity isn’t any less fun! Make a witch-worthy glowing pumpkin (or Jack O Lantern) that works great as a costume accessory, or just for fun. It’s easy for your 3-4 year old to customize it with felt stickers.
Kiwi Crate for Halloween:
M had so much fun decoupaging tissue paper squares onto these plastic jars! It came with enough options and stickers to really customize it, and we totally came up with our own ideas. They come with four electric tea lights too, so you can use it as a spook-tacular night light during this season.
I love this crate (geared toward ages 4-8) for the endless possibilities, the selection of supplies it comes with, and the attention to detail. Not only is the foam glittery, but so is the paste they included – so that the whole craft sparkles. As usual, there were leftover supplies, allowing for mistakes during the ‘creative process’.
Doodle Crate for Halloween:
An amazing, fully featured kit allows you plenty of wiggle room and creativity while making candles for Halloween. They feature some ideas, but offer extra colored crayons so that you can do your own designs.
It also comes with plenty of extra wax so that you can make mistakes, and with an extra wick in case you mess one up. The three votives (included) finish it off, and use the included paint marker to doodle on it.
Here’s a little trick I discovered: If you want to repurpose the votives for after Halloween, just remove the marker using nail polish remover, and doodle on a new design! I had a lot of fun making these, and they are now displayed on my hutch.
Kiwi Crate’s crafting solutions for the whole family are really fun. The kits tend to have something that serve function afterward – be it decor, or play – and they are always open-ended and engaging.
