7 Fun Activity Ideas for Kids’ Birthday Parties

3

Activities are a great way to make your child’s birthday party one to remember, while still keeping the party on a budget. By keeping the kids engaged and enthusiastic, you can ensure that everyone has a good time, whether it’s indoors or outdoors. Here are 7 always popular  for your kid’s next bash that are sure to go down a hit.

Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts can be a great way to stimulate your kids’ curiosity and can also make  from others, without having to break the bank. For the scavenger hunt, all you’ll need to do is create a series of clues and a prize for the end of the hunt. Kids can either work together as one team or be split into two competing teams, and you can even give the activity a pirate theme if your child likes dressing up.

Bounce Houses

Renting  may seem like a bit of an expensive option for a kids’ birthday party, but a quick search of them shows that many are actually surprisingly affordable. In addition, adding a centerpiece like a bounce house to a party for younger children can truly make it an occasion to remember. Not only can they be great fun for the kids, but they can also be a great way for them to expend energy, so they’re not too rowdy for the rest of the party.

Balloon Popping

Having kids pop balloons is not only a great festive-themed way for kids to blow off steam, but is also a guaranteed crowd pleaser. The typical way this works as a party game is that each player has a balloon tied to their leg and has to attempt to pop every other player’s balloon, the winner being the one to be the last player with a balloon attached to them that hasn’t been popped. This game can be a lot of fun but can perhaps overexcite the kids, so you might want to include some less energetic activities between this game.

Obstacle Courses

For younger children, creating a makeshift obstacle course in your backyard can be a fun activity that requires no cost and very little preparation time. In most cases, you can create something simply using objects and materials you have around the home and arrange them in an interesting manner, something which can easily be accomplished in under 30 minutes. Consider also adding prizes for the fastest players, to get the kids even more invested in the activity.

Bowling Alley

If your children are getting a little older, you might want to think about having a party that is centered around an activity outside of your home, to make your kid feel a little more grown up. In this respect, bowling parties are a simple yet fun idea. And while this may stretch your budget a little further than you’d like, hosting a party somewhere other than your house also comes with a host of other benefits. First of all, you will not need to spend time preparing or cleaning up around your home. Additionally, many bowling alleys offer all-inclusive party packages that include catering, meaning that such parties may be better value than you first anticipate.

T-Shirt Painting

If you have a child with an artistic streak, you might want to cater to their interests by adding some more creative activities to the mix. If this is your child’s type of thing, T-shirt or bag painting can be a great option for a more relaxed birthday party. This does require a little more preparation than some other activities, as you will need to have paint and plain T-shirts bought ahead of time. However, if this is not an issue, it can be a great way to engage the kids, as they will be making something that they can then take home later. These can also serve as a unique type of party favor for your guests, as well.

Pizza and Ice Cream Making

If you’re feeling a little devious, you can even trick your little party guests into helping you with the preparation as part of the activities! Children generally love to feel involved and responsible, so having them customize their own pizzas and ice cream for their food can be enjoyable for both them and you. Just make sure to supply them with plenty of pizza and ice cream toppings, so they can personalize to their hearts’ content.
